Business operating hours over Christmas
During the festive season, IBA’s offices will be closed from Christmas Eve until 4 January 2010. The Board and staff look forward to the new year which will see IBA continuing to work hard to assist Indigenous Australians to create wealth and accumulate assets, take up mainstream investment opportunities, create businesses that provide additional employment opportunities and to support home ownership.

Australia’s first Indigenous Tourism Champions announced
IBA has joined with Tourism Australia to develop an exciting new program to promote Indigenous tourism operators to an international market. Twenty small businesses from across Australia have been chosen and will take part in an intensive mentoring and training program. The latest edition of IBA’s Inspire magazine is now available
Issue No.3 of IBA’s economic development magazine, Inspire, is now available, and includes:
- A profile on IBA’s new Chair, Dr Dawn Casey
- An update on the IBA Scholarship Fund
- An interview with IBA staff member Niki Donnelly, whose family were the recipients of an IBA home loan back in 1975
- A profile on the Purarrka Indigenous Mining Academy which is creating training and employment opportunities for Indigenous Australians in Western Australia.

Our new and improved website goes live
At its Board meeting in Sydney today IBA launched its new website. Adhering to industry standards, the new site is well equipped to respond to consumer expectations that websites will offer an interactive communication experience. The website continues to promote awareness of IBA as an organisation committed to advancing the economic health of Indigenous Australians, and showcases the many partner organisations and clients who share that commitment.

IBA celebrated its achievements in Indigenous economic development at its annual NAIDOC Week Breakfast in Brisbane on Friday, 10 July. IBA Indigenous Business Briefing
Business leaders and representatives from the financial sector gathered in Sydney on 25 November 2008 for IBA’s Indigenous Business Briefing.
