Something old, something new
The Wildman Wilderness Lodge represents a great example of recycling in Australian tourism. The core buildings for the new resort were once better known as Wrotham Park Lodge, located in central Far North Queensland. In early November 2009, a team of builders and 18 triple road trains transported the dismantled lodge across the 2,800 kilometres to a warehouse in Darwin, ready to be reconstructed on the Wildman site.

In 1998 the Gagudju Association fell into administration and was at great risk of losing the Gagudju Crocodile Holiday Inn and Gagudju Lodge Cooinda.
