Who is IBA?

Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) is a progressive, commercially focused organisation that promotes and encourages self-management, self-sufficiency and economic independence for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

IBA employs more than 200 people from diverse cultural backgrounds and demographics. Interest and/or experience in the banking and finance sector, policy development and corporate services is often an advantage while all positions require a strong customer service focus and compliance with IBA’s Code of Conduct, Values and Behaviour Framework.

IBA supports the employment, retention and advancement of Indigenous Australians in the work force. At present, approximately one quarter of IBA’s employees are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders.

How to apply

IBA does not usually require applicants for positions at the IBA4 level and below to write detailed statements against each of the required capabilities. A copy of your resume with a covering letter that explains your interest in the position is usually all that is required. Applicants for positions at IBA5 level and above should provide information on their skills and experience against each of the required capabilities.

Applicants must complete a fitness and health statement (PDF 63KB, new window) and include it with their application. An applicant will not automatically be precluded from employment with IBA on the basis of having a police record.
