Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) offers free Into Business™ workshops, designed to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to fully investigate and research their business ideas before taking the leap into business ownership. The three one-day, self-paced workshops are spaced over the course of several weeks, and are held in locations around Australia, including regional and remote areas.

This will be Chris’ third sleepout and with just a sheet of cardboard, a pillow and a simple sleeping bag, Chris will once again experience what it’s like to be homeless. Rain, hail, or whatever the weather, Chris will join other business and community leaders in sleeping outside to help the St Vincent de Paul Society to raise awareness of homelessness in Australia.

The sleepout takes place on Thursday 20 June in capital cities across Australia. It challenges business and community leaders to experience homelessness first-hand for one night to support this serious issue.

• Dr Alana Sandell, a Ngarrindjeri woman determined to have a positive impact on the health, wellbeing of current and future generations Indigenous Australians;

• The Australian Indigenous Fashion Week, which will give the country’s indigenous fashion and design community its place in the spotlight. IBA is a proud co-sponsor of the event’s 2013 Design Program;
• Straddie Camping – a North Stradbroke Island business that is caring for country while producing significant employment and revenue outcomes for local Quandamooka people.

‘Feel the spirit’ – Inspire Issue 10.

The award was the top award for the Commonwealth Authorities and Companies (CAC) Bodies category.

The awards, now in their 29th year, are designed to honour the achievements of public sector agencies and aims to promote and recognise excellent practice in public administration. They identify best practice and test accountability, transparency and quality.

The judge’s report stated: ‘This is a comprehensive report with a high level of compliance of the specified reporting requirements. It tells an interesting story about the organisation, its staff and people outcomes. Moreover, all the performance measures are clear and easily understood.’
