IBA Investments

Ongoing Business Support

IBA Investments provides ongoing support to its Indigenous Partners through the Equity team. The primary responsibility of the Equity team is to monitor the financial, operational and strategic performance of IBA investments' commercial enterprises and ensures all legal obligations are undertaken. This involves providing detailed reporting on each investment's performance to senior management and the IBA Board.

Functions undertaken by the Equity team include:

  • Active participation on the respective Boards or management committees of investments
  • Quarterly and exception reporting against the key performance indicators of each investment
  • Ensuring corporate governance and performance issues of each investment are addressed
  • Participate in the business undertakings of the joint ventures including, where necessary, liaising on day-to-day operational issues
  • Attend to community service obligations associated with Indigenous joint venture partners
  • Pursue Indigenous employment and training strategies within each joint venture

An important function of the Equity team is addressing issues which arise that are not necessarily of a commercial nature but have the potential to impact on the investments. This function is a requirement of IBA's Service Charter.

In IBA's commitment to the  Corporate Plan, IBA staff facilitate meetings with community members and the various stakeholders, facilitate skills/knowledge transfer by giving private briefings and coaching to Indigenous Directors and advise shareholders on the financial performance and future direction of investments.
