IBA Partnerships

New Policy

IBA works with other Australian Government departments and agencies in the development of Whole-of-Government new policy. This is developed through the Single Indigenous Budget Submission process led by the Minister for Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs.

2007-08 Budget

The 2007-08 Indigenous Affairs Budget is focused on remote housing, early childhood, new education opportunities, health and economic independence for Indigenous Australians.

While the Budget’s new and extended funding did not include additional capital for IBA home ownership programmes, IBA Homes and Community Homes continue to receive recognition for their contributions supporting the Governments focus on Indigenous housing reform.

In relation to the announcement of assistance for housing and home ownership at Hopevale, IBA has agreed to set aside $5m for home ownership loans funded by a new program currently being developed within IBA Homes.

IBA continues its pursuits for new ways to assist Indigenous people achieve their home ownership and/or business aspirations, including new partnerships with the private sector.
