Research
The research activities of the Policy Unit include two regional economic intelligence pilots in the Kimberley and Townsville regions. These pilots will research and analyse the economic and market intelligence of these regions relevant to business entrepreneurs or individuals looking to start a business. They will then draw together the findings in reports that can inform Indigenous individuals and groups, as well as private and Government sector organisations, about business opportunities. After completion of the reports, workshops will be held to bring together these groups to enable them to go forward together and explore business opportunities in their regions.
Other areas of research relate to international approaches to home ownership and economic development on Indigenous land.
