Manufacturing

Portfolio focus: Creating wealth generation, employment and training opportunities in regional areas.

An Investment Highlight – ‘New opportunities for NSW factory’

IBA invests in assets that provide employment and training opportunities to Indigenous Australians living in regional areas of Australia.

An aerial shot of the Inverell Manufacturing Facility, located in the northern NSW town of Inverell. The Inverell Manufacturing Facility had been successfully manufacturing stock feeds and pet foods for close to 20 years prior to IBA acquiring the asset in joint venture with Ridley Agri Products.

The business has been undergoing a restructuring with its focus returning to the production of pet food after a period supplying feed for the aquaculture industry.

Despite the challenging nature of operating a manufacturing business in Australia, the business continues to provide good opportunities for Indigenous employment and training. A Reconciliation Action Plan and Indigenous Engagement Strategy have been developed and implemented, adding to the potential for this business to create beneficial impact for the Western NSW Indigenous community.
