Investments and Joint Ventures

Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) identifies, develops and assesses potential investment opportunities that promote self-management, self-sufficiency and economic independence for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

IBA partners with Indigenous corporations, communities and individuals, private sector business and industry partners to invest in sustainable, commercially viable businesses and ventures that provide profit distribution, create employment opportunities and foster asset accumulation.

By providing the means to both invest (through access to capability partners and equity) and to succeed (through ongoing support and training), IBA encourages Indigenous Australians to participate in the mainstream economy and:

  • develop a better understanding of the business environment
  • learn more about corporate governance, managing and operating a business
  • assume long term independent management and control of their own wealth, assets and financial future.

IBA’s ultimate goal with its investments is to sell down our equity to our Indigenous partners so that over time the asset becomes totally owned or controlled by those partners.

IBA undertakes a thorough Business Venture Assessment Process that appraises potential ventures to determine their commercial viability. We encourage Indigenous organisations, communities, private sector businesses and industries with commercially viable business venture proposals to Contact Us.
