Who we are

IBA helps create opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and communities to build assets and wealth through home ownership, including on tenured and community titled lands; business participation and ownership; partnership; and investments.

What you can expect from us

Our staff will:

  • Treat you with respect and honesty, and be fair and impartial in our dealings with you;
  • Provide you with accurate and up-to-date information;
  • Respect your privacy; and
  • Listen to your feedback and be responsive.

Your Role

To assist our staff in delivering the highest quality of service, we ask that you:

  • Treat our staff with courtesy and respect;
  • Provide us with accurate information and documents; and
  • Advise us when your personal details change.

And, if you are unsure about anything, please ask us.

Feedback

We value your feedback. If you are happy with the level of service received, please let us know, as it allows recognition of good service by our staff.

If you are unsatisfied with our level of service, please let us know. We take complaints seriously as they allow us to identify the areas in which we can improve our services.

We recommend that you:

1. Discuss the problem with the person you have been dealing with;

2. If you are unsatisfied, talk to their manager;

3. If you still have concerns, please place your complaint in writing and address it to the IBA Complaints Officer, IBA, PO Box 38, Woden, ACT 2606, or email Complaints@iba.gov.au. 

If you are unsatisfied with our handling of your complaints, you may contact the Commonwealth Ombudsman; we can provide you with information on how to do this.

Your Privacy

IBA collects, uses and records your personal information in accordance with the Information Privacy Principles of the Privacy Act 1988. For further information please contact the Office of Privacy Commissioner at www.privacy.gov.au or by calling 1300 363 992.

Freedom of Information 

The Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) requires Australian Government agencies to make particular information about their activities publicly available. IBA is exempt from certain provisions of the FOI Act relating to documents pertaining to its commercial activities.
