Joseph Elu clarifies his decision to resign from the National Indigenous Council

Canberra – The Chairman of Indigenous Business Australia (IBA), Mr Joseph Elu today responded to recent media reports about his decision not to renew his appointment as a member of the National Indigenous Council (NIC).

Mr Elu wrote to The Hon Mal Brough, Minister for Families and Community Services and Indigenous Affairs in October this year resigning as a member of the NIC.

Mr Elu stated in the letter that ‘it is with regret that due to increasing work loads at Indigenous Business Australia and the start up of Outback Stores, which will take up to two years to roll out, I will have to decline your offer to serve on the National Indigenous Council.
