Support for Businesses - SA
The South Australia (SA) Government has announced measures to support businesses impacted by COVID-19. Below is a summary of each measure.

Payroll tax relief
Payroll tax will be waived for six months for all businesses with an annual payroll of up to $4 million. Employers with grouped annual wages above $4 million are able to defer payroll tax payments for six months. Find out more.
Emergency cash grants – up to $10k
The SA Government can provide one off emergency cash grants of $10,000 for small businesses and not-for-profits that have suffered a significant loss of income or have been forced to close as a result of coronavirus related restrictions. Find out more and register your interest.
Rebates and fee waivers
- Land tax: Individuals and businesses paying land tax quarterly with outstanding quarterly bills for 2019-20 are able to defer payments for up to 6 months. For 2020-21, the Land Tax Transition relief fund will be increased from 50% to 100% based on existing relief criteria guidelines. Find out more.
- Liquor Licence: a waiver of liquor licence fees for 2020-21 for those hotels, restaurants, cafes and clubs forced to close as a result of new social distancing restrictions. Find out more at the Consumer and Business Services website.
Funds to support the community and jobs
The SA government has committed $300 million to support individual business and industry sectors directly affected by COVID-19 and $250 million to support community organisations, sporting, arts and recreational bodies, and non-government organisations experiencing financial hardship caused by enforced restrictions.
